Review of Death of a Nation (2018) by Pete M — 07 Aug 2018
A frighteningly realistic comparison of past oppressive regimes to our current propaganda-fueled country. To be clear, I am not a Republican. I consider myself a centrist who believes in freedom of expression, family values, and equal treatment for all citizens of the US.
In the past 10 years, I have been horrified at the censorship, identity politics, intentional division, and mob-rule violence that our media and "progressive" citizens have promoted. This film accurately portrays these abysmal sources of fascism and oppression as they exist in our society today.
The difference between the "critic" score and audience score are all the proof you need to know that these oppressive and destructive forces exist and are hard at work to destroy any semblance of free thought or expression.
It is indeed a dark day when citizens refer to the truth as "hate speech" and that is exactly what is happening today. The book and this film should be required for anyone who considers themselves to be "aware of the problem" in this country.
I don't care if you're left, right, or center (even though the critics obviously do).
