Review of Death Defying Acts (2007) by Christy B — 19 Apr 2008
Atmospheric and sentimental; a brief and passionate affair near the end of Houdini's life leaves us wanting more. The film, set in 1926, is well executed with attention to detail and admirable performances, but feels like it only scratches the surface of what could have been.
Saoirse Ronan's performance is superior to her work in Atonement.
