Review of Death at a Funeral (2007) by Casselise R — 21 Dec 2009
In the tradition of four weddings and a funeral, here is a film that is not only funnier but cleverer.
As far as dysfunctional family films go, this one has it all. A casket, a pharmacist druggie, a loser, both successful and non successful writers and even a dwarf gay lover. Unbelievably hilarious, you will cry as you watch these characters try to manipulate their way out of, and conceal what could possibly be the most devastating family secret ever.
Watch it a weep, death at a funeral is deadly funny.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
WATCH IT IF YOU LIKED: Four weddings and a funeral, faulty towers, the wedding date, or crazy Brit comedy.
CHILDREN: It?s not a film that I would say children can?t watch, but you will definitely have to exercise caution. Most young children won?t understand the offence and older children will probably be mature enough to handle it. However, it does have a few swear words and some nudity, although the nudity is male and nothing can be seen.
RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY: Blasphemy.
