Review of Death at a Funeral (2007) by Stephen C — 02 Jun 2010
Somebody at work reckoned I would enjoy this movie and do you know something ?
Its really good fun .
When Daniels father passes away then the Funeral should be a matter of routine.
What happens next involves Hallcinogenic drugs ,Blackmail, naked men ,Old Folks Pooh and Gay Dwarfs.
Sounds like a recipie for disaster but in Director Frank Oz's hands we get a funny British Farce.
The cast of well known Brit faces give good value as they contend with the mess as it develops most notable are Alan Tudyk as accidently drugged Boyfriend,Daisy Donovan as his desprate girlfriend,Andy Nyman as the hapless best friend and Peter Vaughn as a Grouchy Uncle.
Peter Dinklage is great fun as the guy with all the secrets and the laughs come thick at fast as the funeral becomes more and more frantic.
Memories of classic Brit Comedies loom large ,But thats no bad thing when your having this much fun.
Short, funny and well acted this is an Overlooked gem and one that deserves to be seen.
