Review of Death and the Maiden (1994) by Tom E — 06 Sep 2007
Again I saw this in the middle of the night when it was randomly on the TV and I discovered one of the most intense and claustrophobic films I've ever seen. More frightening than anything that the horror genre is able to produce.
It would be awesome to see on stage but I think I would potentially piss my pants (not because I have a weak bladder or am old) the mystery is that for such a good film why does it seem to have been so swiftly forgotten.
It bombed at the box office did nothing on video and is NEVER on Terrestrial or satellite TV. You also can't buy it in the shops. It's just wierd that such good film would be wiped so cleanly from the face of consumerism.
Where has it gone??!!!
