Review of Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008) by Matthew G — 28 Mar 2010
I just finished watching this documentary. Wow. I can't remember the last time I had to pause anything to collect myself. Be prepared, you will cry (or, for the macho, get a lump in your throat.) The only word for what I felt watching this is horror.
The raw emotion will rip your heart out. Amazingly, however, above all this is a love story. I love story between the filmmaker and his best friend, a love story between parents and children, between grandparents and grandchildren, between strangers who are thrown together by Dr.
Andrew Bagby. If you have kids, see this movie. If you have friends, see this movie. If you have parents, see. this.movie.
