Review of Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008) by Darryl K — 29 Dec 2010
Wow...This one will leave you breathless once the credits begin to roll. There are so many things here that prove the old axiom "sometimes truth is stranger than fiction", or in this case 'more amazing.
' What's even harder is choosing which is most amazing. Is it the unbelievable tale of Andrew Bagby's murderer, her escape to Canada, and how the justice system set her free to walk the streets? Perhaps.
Or the pure heartfelt tribute to Bagsby by his dearest friends? Possibly. Or the amazing journey that Bagby's parents took to protect his son Zachary from the very person who killed him? In the end, it doesn't really matter, DZ will lift you from awe to anger to tears in this collage of one man's life seen through his family and friends.
You have to see this film.
