(2010) Dear John.

DRAMA/ TEEN ROMANCE.

Another implausible type of storyline adapted from over rated novelist Nicolaus Sparks about teen girl's (Amanda Seyfried) relationship with military service man John played by Channing Tatum! Like other horse crap films, such as "Message In A Bottle" and "The Notebook" and then "The Last Song", I have to say these are some of the worst romance movies ever made, because they lack a lot of 'natural conversations' or actual physical reactions whereas people don't really talk nor act like this in real life and this film is no exception.

Spoiler Warnings..................................At the beginning of this film, John meets this girl by chance because she accidently knocks a bag into the water, John gets it for her, and this is when he starts a rapport with her stating to her that he's a military man and is going to war. Suddenly the film jumps from daylight to the night and they're still together, is when she finally asks him when 're you going back and he responds- two weeks, like it would take this long, at least about 5 hours or more to finally ask him this question as opposed to asking him earlier is unrealistic. Another scene is when he takes her out for dinner and it's daylight, they go to a restaurant and find a table during the daytime, suddenly it's dark again and they're still sitting together eating. While watching this, I was like, had they either been eating and talking this long or it wasn't until several hours at least until after dark is when they finally got their food. Somewhere in the beginning of the film, John assaults some people for no reason whatsoever, like everybody amongst the other cast knew anything about the conversation between him and Savannah (Amnda Seyfried) when they weren't even near both of them. And that no one press charges against him meaning that the assualt John did was clearly justified and understable, because he was 'all sensitive' when she mentions about his dad being 'autistic' and all, which was never addressed to the audience nor does he ever mentions it throughout. Are the audience that forgiving when watching this. In real life, any normal person would say something instead of waiting for the audience to figure it out for themselves, since autism consists of uncontrollable reactions. The other scene that really bothers me, was when she goes and gets married because of John's devotion to the army as a result of 9/11, she neither stands by nor wait for him motivating her to go and marry someone else because she couldn't wait for him any longer. John finds out about this marriage thing and decides to forget about her, but has no choice but to visit the same town again where she's living because john's father finally suffers some mental relapse, ending up into the hospital. He comes back and when his father finally dies, is when he decides to see and inform her of the news, once coming into her home, he sees a picture of the person she had marrried to and doesn't say anything except 'oh! I thought you married this other fella', no mentioning about who or what- no reason why she married this other person or how it came about or anything, for as the audience are kept in the dark about this as well, no words were even spoken until John went to the hospital to see this other fella she became married to! And the audience soon realizes without any natural conversations that the reason she married this unexpected person was purely for pity reasons, since he had cancer of some sort and wasn't going to live much longer! This is either dumb filmaking or is that how Nicolas Sparks write- I'm not encouraged in wanting to find that out!

She and him are perfect boyfriend and girlfriend material, while he's serving in the army and doesn't appear to have a job doing anything else, Savannah plays guitar and does a lot of humanitarian work for autistic children- they both walk around like money is sometimes no object and is always doing nothing else but display affection for one another! Watching this film is like watching a "porn-like" atmosphere where much of their devotion is to each other without any financial worries or set backs! For instance they always seem to find convenient times writing several letters to one another back and forth without any mentioning about, how's my autistic dad is doing or what's up with the other guys or how dangerous fighting in the war is, to me is pure horse crap! Preferrable films to see that 're similar is 1923 "White Sister" and 1938 "Shopworn Angel" starring James Stewart and Margaret O' Sullivan.
