Review of Dear John (1988) by Ricardo Junior S — 12 Aug 2011
The cliche melodrama isn't the biggest problem of "Dear John". Actually, the love history works decently here. The real problem is that John and Savannah aren't interesting characters, performed with inexpressiveness by Tatum and (surprisingly) Seyfried.
Hallstrom's heavy hand, with inumerous and repetitive musical montages, doesn't help the final result.
