The book is not that bad. It's a nice book, actually, amusing and all. Just a bit cheesy, but not in a bad way. On the other hand, the movie is just one of those bad adaptations that relies on so many changes from the original story and characters to work, and fails for the exact same reason.
Such a waste of time. I'm glad I at least watched it in good company.
