Review of Dear Frankie (2004) by Luu L — 14 Oct 2007
Dear Frankie is a heart-warming and often humorous tale of nine year old Frankie and his mum, Lizzie, who have been on the move ever since he can remember. To protect her son from the truth, Lizzie has invented a story to satisfy Frankie's curiosity.
She regularly writes Frnakie a letter from his make-believe father who works abroad a ship travelling to exotic lands. However, Lizzie soon finds out his 'father's' ship will be arriving in a few days.
Now, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth and hatching a desperate plan to find the perfect stranger to play the perfect father. Unique way of touching the audience with the harshness of lives some have to face everyday.
It captures the loves and the emotional feelings of a child and a mother seeking for the happiness of his son. Davey (Gerald Butler) gave a brilliant performance. The film rounded with a family-hearted drama.
this movie is the real jewel for all ages!!!
