Review of Deadpool (2016) by Henry G — 12 Aug 2016
I think the biggest failing of the film is that, while I enjoyed the hell out of it and hold it as one of my favorite comic book films, I didn't have that desire to see it again as I have with other comic book films.
One viewing seemed to be enough. If I were to compare this film to food, I would compare it to a twinkie, it's sweet, filling, and unhealthy, but once you're done, you kind of don't want to have another one for a long time.
But, Ryan Reynolds was born to play this character. Everyone turns in a good performance. The plot is funny and entertaining, but almost bizarrely simple. The action scenes are both comedic and fast paced.
It's movie definitely worth your time, but it just has this strange lack of impact on you. 8/10: "Iron it out in the Sequel".
