Review of Deadpool (2016) by Ian W — 30 Sep 2017
Being a Deadpool fan since I was a kid, it's amazing to see him finally get a film! I couldn't believe it had actually been given the go.
Just from the opening soundtrack and slow mo, I knew I was in for a treat.
Having read near all of his comics, I can honestly say it's a great adaptation. The film is a near masterpiece, for obvious reasons it couldn't go full Deadpool, but it does a damn good job. They couldn't have casted a better actor, Ryan Renolds absolutely kills it. I can't stress enough how much I love this movie,.
Deadpool's first outing to the big screen couldn't have been better, Ryan catches Deadpool's essence perfectly. Being quirky, mental and absolutely hilarious. It'll have you laughing from start to finish, accompanied by a great origin story, told differently.
The scene on the motorway where he forgets his ammo bag so only has 12 bullets and he's counting down, has to be my favourite, crammed full of laughs and great action. Just like the movie as a whole. Even the advertising was perfect, from the picture above to the hilarious tweets from Renolds, it did everything right. Accompanied by T.J. Miller, adding more comedy.
Deadpool adds something new to the Marvel Superhero universe, even if it is Fox's universe. He adds a loose cannon to the roster, anything can happen at any minute.
I'd reccomend Deadpool to anyone who'll listen.
