Review of Deadpool (2016) by Alexander C — 22 Jun 2016

Not one to jump on the band wagon of over hyped films and just really being too saturated with comic book/superhero films I missed this on at the cinema.

After hearing so much about this film I decided to check it out and I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. It truly is one hell of a ride from start to finish. with one of the most original opening sequences I think I have seen. With its machine gun dialogue and fast paced action, the film flies by at a rocket pace. This is one of the Funniest and outrageous films I have seen in recent years and I love every minute of it.

Ryan Reyonlds was born to play the title character of Deadpool. with the character breaking the fourth wall, knowing he is in a movie to all the pop culture references he has complete fun.

Story.

Former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, finds out he has cancer so he decided to do something experimental to try and save his life. But after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool.

As he states through out the film he is not a superhero and this is a love story, with a twist he is a slightly a bad guy and his girlfriend is a prostitute. They are made for each other and I think Morena Baccarin is fantastic as the love interest.

I found the story refreshing and original of sorts which seems very rare these days. especially since most comic-book movies are your usual cookie cutter films.
