Review of Deadpool (2016) by Steven V — 04 Aug 2016
While Deadpool is funny and filled with spectacular action and comedy, it is not without its flaws.
The R rated stuff, while funny and good, at times felt a bit forced into the movie just to please the fans to make sure its R rated because it wants to be. The film, while it does make fun of the superhero movie tropes, it still follows the superhero movie "formula". I would also think that there will be moments that feel A BIT sexist towards women who will watch this movie. And also, DON'T LET CHILDREN SEE THIS MOVIE! Also, there was a few comedy that wasn't my type of comedy, PERSONALLY.
Nevertheless, Ryan Reynolds is perfect as Deadpool, with the rest of the cast doing a good job. The tie-ins with the X-Men universe were also pretty cool.
So while I don't think its as perfect as everyone is saying it is, the movie is still an enjoyable watch.
