Deadpool promises an R-rated experience and it lives up to it. It's funny with a slightly wider range in humor compared to a lot of comedic films. The action is slick and gruesome although can be underwhelming at times.
The pacing is a little odd as it jumps to and from the past but without a balance of now vs. then. The story is straightforward and perhaps a little too straightforward and the overall artistic style doesn't take advantage of the character's gratuitous fourth-wall-breaking.
However, it does sport a fun character and passes as a decent action flick with humor and bullets to spare.
