Review of Deadpool (2016) by Kaden C — 18 May 2017
I admit I had doubts heading into this one. Ryan Reynolds had a shot at portraying this character and it didn't go well, although that was not entirely his fault. I am pleased to say that I loved every minute of this movie.
Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller, and he seamlessly weaves an origin story, with a revenge story, and a love story. Keep in mind this movie is extremely crude, and it holds nothing back. Deadpool will constantly break the 4th wall telling us things and I loved it.
This is definitely one of the funniest films I've ever seen. The main villain, "Ajax" wasn't great, but he was good for what the film needed him to be. The supporting X-Men characters are also nice additions to a perfect film, especially NegaSonic Teenage Warhead.
Colossus is also great, and the CGI looks well done considering the film's low budget. Overall Deadpool is a great and different superhero film, that changes the genre entirely.
