Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Richard D — 20 Jun 2018

I didn't see the first "Deadpool" movie because I really don't like the character. I don't really find his comics all that funny, and I find the fourth wall breaking to be a cheap, unexplained gimmick.

This movie feels like a pretty faithful adaptation of the character, and I have to say ... I don't think he's particularly funny and most of the fourth wall breaking is just an excuse to make more not very funny jokes.

That makes it sound like I didn't like the movie, but I actually did. I just don't really like Reynolds or the character he's playing. He is surrounded by actors and characters I did like though, and the action sequences are executed well.

I had a decent time with it, although I still don't feel like going back and watching the first film.
