Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Drlowdon — 25 May 2018
Despite occasionally falling back on a few clichés the original Deadpool movie, with it’s over the top violence and self-aware sense of humour, was a bit of a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre and this sequel turns the dial up even further.
The plot itself, which I won't spoil here, isn't overly important but does offer enough suitably emotional beats to allow audiences to invest in the plight of the characters. As with the first movie however it’s the humour that really shines. Yes, some might describe things as "childish" or "crude" but Ryan Reynolds was simply born to play Deadpool and I'm happy to admit that I found myself laughing out loud during many scenes. I for one would be happy to see another entry in this series.
