Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Youmustdienow — 17 May 2018
Entertaining for the most part. Did not laugh much though. I’m big into canadian actor lead comedies in which 4th wall is banged open through a glory hole at a gass station restroom stall. However, it was not all that creative in execution.
It went on & on referencing random old movies that either sucked or have worn out on novelty. The Celine Dion moment missed the mark for me. I thought Lonely Island’s use of Michael Bolton was a better example of how to implement special guest celebrities as a way to roast their own fame.
It did feature a silly opera song though that kind of made up for that. Last gripe was that it didn’t take place in many locals. Basically was filmed in similar looking locations as first film. On the upside, it had a good cast of characters who blended in well to the easy to follow narrative.
I’d still like to see more DeadPool, so maybe sometime down the not so distant future would be nice.
