Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Brian K — 21 May 2018
Did I like Deadpool 2 as much as I liked the first one?? Honestly, not sure, there were bits and pieces that I liked yes, but overall, it was just more of the same in this movie. The biggest thing that the first movie had going for it was, that no one knew what to expect with it, with this one, it was going to be extremely difficult to top what the first one brought from a comedic aspect and from a tone aspect.
One of the biggest issues that I had with the movie, is that there was little to no backstory on Cable considering how big of a character he is in the Xmen universe as I am not that well versed in all of the Xmen stuff and mythos.
Secondly, I thought the first one, had so much more emotion tied to it, I know it was an origin movie, but you saw the torture and pain he had to go through to become this almost hero, sometimes good guy, and this one, there really wasn't much of that anywhere in the film.
The whole bit at the end where Deadpool uses the time device to change some stuff, I'm kinda confused with some of the things he changed, some of the events make sense and then some are just kinda confusing.
Hopefully there will be another solo outing for Mr. Pool aside from the rumored X-Force movie, and if there is, lets see what Ryan can come up with. If you like this review, please follow me on facebook @ontheflyreviews.
