With some surprisingly witless humour and a lack of consistently postmodern irreverence, Deadpool 2 outstays its welcome. Aside from a fantastic mid-movie assembling-the-team sequence, its main flaw may be that it is a movie that wants to be taken seriously masquerading as a much more interesting one that doesn't.
