Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Not much to say. The action is great. It's funny as hell. I think the first Deadpool was a bit funnier because it was a bit fresher, but DP2 has a much better plot. The first movie liked to lampshade its generic origin story trappings, but never quite subverted the tropes it used.
The sequel feels unique, it's familiar to the rest of the X-Men franchise, with the little kid looking for salvation, and a misfit family, but it forges its own path within those themes. It's not what I would have expected at all and I'm super happy about that.
I still think Ryan Reynolds deserved awards recognition for the first movie, and he's just as good here. It's a hilariously committed performance.
