Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Ely%20 V — 11 Aug 2018

This is a very hard film to review, on one hand it's one of the funniest movies of 2018 but it still follows the common sequel mould. The film is at its funniest when the jokes aren't repeated or carried on from the previous film. The best part of this film is the arc of the characters which was the weakest part of the first film. The usual issue with sequels is the tired attempt to recapture the lightening of the first by recycling jokes and Deadpool is no exception. The best part of the film is the X force team launching into action, one of the funniest segments created. The new characters breathe life into a franchise that didn't necessarily require it, but it will ensure the future of the franchise has direction. I'm reserving my complete judgement until the DVD release but this franchise is still going strong and is definitely a bold and bright choice by the filmmakers, hopefully Disney don't ruin this character. 19/05/2018.

Just caught the super duper version and the film while being hilarious at times, fails to ignite a flame that distances itself away from the first film. Comedy films can be lazy and Deadpool fails in a similar way. 12-08-2018.
