Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Jesse C — 03 Jun 2018
Okay, not gonna lie, as much as I loved the first one, and was hyped for this, I thought Deadpool was gonna turn out to be one of those films that started great, but the sequels killed it. Very pleased to say, I was not disappointed in the film at all, in-fact it may even be better then the first film.
The sequel still has the same tongue-and-cheek humor and over-the-top gory action of the first film. But surprisingly, it also has a lot of emotional moments as well, of which all of the actors did a fantastic job with their roles. Namely Reynolds' as Deadpool (No one will ever be a better fit to play Wade Wilson/Deadpool then Ryan Reynolds he was born for this character) Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and young Julian Dennison as Russel/Firefist.
One aspect that was really cool (This is a vague spoiler), is that of all the main characters, the film had no true villain. Everyone was just trying to do what they felt was right.
Ultimately if you liked the first film, you'll like this one too.
