I understand that Wes Craven couldn't make of this film what he had envisioned in the first instance, but in reality that ends up being irrelevant because this is the product delivered and it's one of the most disappointing films I've seen from this director by far.

There are horror films that feel silly, but they use it as a device that can work in the grotesque or the humorous and the biggest crime of Deadly Friends is that it just feels silly and the horror is conspicuous by its absence.
