Review of Deadgirl (2008) by Taylor M — 26 Sep 2009
The concept for this movie is interesting enough to earn it 3.5 stars. There were some things that were lacking, however, mainly the script. I loved the score, thought the direction was adequate to good (it had a similar feeling to a Donnie Darko-esq movie which has been done a lot recently, but it didn't fail, it just felt kind of overdone). The adequate directing paired with the adequate acting and a mediocre script left a good movie that could have been better.
Watching this a second time made it apparent that this is VERY Donnie Darko-esq and I can't help but wonder why the director would opt to make that unfortunate decision. I lower my rating to 3 stars.
