Review of Dead Snow (2009) by Joe T — 19 May 2010
I didn't really care for this zombie flick too much, but it had its moments. The movie has enough protruding intestines, and blood gushing to keep any gore hound fairly satisfied. The big issue I had with this film was its flow.
The whole film just feels... awkward. Like at first it tries to be a legit horror film with fairly well developed characters, and then it turns into a ridiculous splatterfest by the end of it. With a story this ridiculous, I wish it would have just embraced the splatterfest style throughout.
In other words, "Dead Snow" needed more laughs. Also, in regards to the zombies, some of them look monsterous and terrifying while others just look goofy. The whole production just ends up being a mixed bag, but if you want blood, "Dead Snow" has it in spades.
