Review of Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014) by Chok S — 19 Sep 2014
It's Shaun Of The Dead meets Idle Hands in this non-stop gorefest Nazi zombie comedy that's meaner, bloodier, funnier, and twice the budget of the first film! While the first film has a typical plot where friends go into the cabin, awaken zombies by accident, and get kill off one by one, this sequel definitely created a whole new story that's original with lots of surprises and goes beyond what the first one did and better.
(I suggest you not to watch the trailer, it's kinda give away too much). The GORES here are plenty and horror fans will definitely enjoy the bloody yet gleefully non-stop violence from start to finish along with its wickedly sick and gross-out humors.
The SCARES here are from the zombie make-up effects, however it's not as creepy-looking as the first film since most scenes here take place during daytime so it's kinda loses the scare for that.
Overall, there are plenty of FUN to enjoy in this gorefest Nazi zombie film with its twisted humorous plot, gleeful deaths, and non-stop bloody action sequences. It's quite rare to see any sequel horror film surpassed its original one but this film just goes beyond that to become the best zombie/comedy film since Shaun Of The Dead and is definitely on my list of the best horror/comedy film this year [A].
