Review of Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014) by Sylvester K — 18 Oct 2014
In what is sure to become one of the Audience Award finalists at the Toronto After Dark 2014 fest, Dead Snow 2 is a brilliant follow up to the original 2009 hit that picks up almost immediately in the aftermatch of the first film with Martin fleeing the cabin bruised and battered, and armless from the attack of cursed Nazi zombies.
He wakes up in the hospital only to find the leaders arm had been attached to him and he has been accused of multiple homicide for the events in said cabin with the authorities refusing to believe his seemingly fantastical story.
The brilliance of the film is the fusion of an Evil Dead type of humor perminating throughout with a Norweigian twist in combination with a little Idle Hands and some decent iconic level cinematography that really rejuvinates the Zombie genre with despite how much it has risked becoming dull with the amount of material that has come out of late in the genre.
A must see for any horror fan and a definitive top film of the year.
