Review of Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014) by Manny C — 30 Nov 2014
Five years ago the Norwegian horror romp Dead Snow came right out of nowhere and delighted genre fans all over with it's brilliant fusion of the zombie and cabin-in-the-woods motif. It made you wonder why it hadn't been done before.
In the dementedly entertaining English-language sequel, Vegar Hoel's Martin, the only survivor from the first film, wakes up in a hospital where he's the suspect in the killing of all of his friends.
Worse, a surgeon has mistakenly replaced his severed hand with that of the limb of the undead Colonel Herzog. Things only get worse from there, much to the delight of anyone who's loved outrageous horror from the likes of Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson.
Good show.
