Review of Dead Silence (2007) by Sonia F — 14 Sep 2014
Aside from some interesting visual flair provided by director James Wan, there's not much to enjoy or be scared by in Dead Silence. All of the performances are laughable at best, especially Donnie Wahlberg's mustache, and the screenplay is full of such cliched and dull dialogue that you can't really believe anyone is saying this.
The premise is such a joke that it's hard to take the horror seriously, so when Wan provides some good jump scares, you don't jump, because you're still aware, "Oh yeah, it's just a doll.
" The film shows the promise that Wan will one day live up to, but this film isn't worth your time.
