Review of Dead Silence (2007) by Stephen W — 06 Oct 2010
James Wan's followup to Saw is good at times, but just downright cheeseball at others. When a random ventriloquist dummy is left at a young couples doorstep, the wife is murdered and her tongue has been ripped out.
The distraught husband takes the wife's body back to be buried and to look for answers surrounding a local legend about a revenge driven spirit that was also a ventriloquist. So normal revenge ghost story cliches follow and any tension that was building is lost.
