Not outright scary. But I did appreciate the lack of "jump scares". James Wan (who directed the first SAW) knows how to get under the skin of an audience. So while you wouldn't find many scream inducing moments, the film has a quiet way to promote that "heeby-jeeby" feeling that we got of Bogeymen when we were kids.
