Review of Dead Silence (1989) by Steve W — 27 Oct 2009
An refreshing and original tale of horror from the makers of Saw. Although the acting isn't anything special and there is some cliches, its everything else that really shines. The story is pretty cool, and I loved the music by Charlie Clouser. My favourite scene had to be the flashback where Michael Ashen heckles Mary Shaw on stage.
Much like the other films of collaborators James Wan and Leigh Whannel, the movie has a unique style with great cinematography, atmosphere, and twisted storytelling. An excellent ghost story.
