Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Josh G — 14 Sep 2008
Dead Ringers is one of the few movies I have found to be genuinely disturbing. in many ways it represents the culmination of Cronenberg's explorations of the horror of the human body. in this film the very thing that gives us life, the womb, is presented as the ultimate horror.
it is almost a denial of life itself. it also presents a terrifying picture of the male relationship with the female body...almost to the point that the movie is probably unbearable for many women to watch.
