Review of Dead Presidents (1995) by Princezyae P — 16 Jun 2008
Entertaining movie even with the nonstop depressing events that follow the characters. Didn't expect much from Larenz Tate and Chris Tucker at first but they got my admiration by the end of it. What really sucks is you can tell the Hughe's brothers are great, they're just not getting their point across.
A kid who doesn't have the smarts for school goes to Vietnam and comes being slandered by comments like "what you get out of fighting a white man's war?" He ends up hitting rock bottom along with his friend and family.
It's a very misorganized plot that has something to say, but couldn't find the right way to say it in all it's running time. I'm definitely checking out Menace II Society as soon as I can though.
