Review of Dead Man's Shoes (2004) by Sam R — 10 Jun 2008
Daaaaaark. Shane Meadows offers another film firmly rooted in good old British grit, although there are moments of black comedy peppered throughout, this is for the most part a very serious and increasingly harrowing thriller.
There is a fair bit of violence but it's actually not very explicit, we don't see anything more then we need to but this way it's a lot more effective than if it was just an all-out bloodbath.
Not quite as good as This Is England but well worth watching.
