Review of Dead Man's Shoes (2004) by Ruth B — 10 Jul 2008
Shocking and brutal and at times very funny. Paddy Considine and Toby Kebbell (latterly of BBC's 'The Street') both give sterling performances as (respectively) a brother bent on revenge and the 'simple-minded' brother that he is avenging.
It has been described as genre defying, I would certainly agree. I'd also recommend this unforgettable movie to anyone who appreciates genuinely dark and gritty.
Cinema that also has its humourous moments.
