Review of Dead Man's Shoes (2004) by Michael J — 03 Sep 2009
This movie does it all for me. But maybe it isn't for everyone. This is totally a classic vengeance/payback movie, in the classic mold of Death Wish but it is made by a director that approaches all his projects with a fresh and insightful down to earth midlands salt of the earth humanity.
It isn't that it feels "real" but that it keeps a lot more real than most other movies like "the Brave One" or "the Punisher." In the end I think it makes it more harsh.
Nearly perfect and one of Shane Meadows' best films.
