Review of Dead Man's Shoes (2004) by Andrew D — 19 Mar 2010
Tense, chilling, original, savage low-budget revenge thriller with an emotional, engaging story. The shots of the countryside are beautiful and complemented perfectly by the moody, contemplative soundtrack. The acting is strong all-around, but Paddy Considine is fantasic. However, some of it is a bit far-fetched, the artsy moments are annoying, and it's manipulative and heavy-handed at times.
8/10.
