Review of Dead Man Walking (1995) by Virginia T — 23 Feb 2008

Great movie. "Redemption isn't a kind of free admission ticket. You gotta participate in your own redemption. You got some work to do." How to love a sinner ? How to forgive when we are filled with hatred and negative emotions ? "It's not faith. I wish it were that easy. It's work." We all long for a love that's so big that takes in all evil, wishfully our own. When it's the other way round, can we do the same unto others as what we wish others do unto us ? Lots of time we wish we could be as loving as our ideals, until reality bites, then we discover we are merely weak & fragile human. In face of tests, would we stick to what we believe in, or rather, run away & take the easy path ?
