Review of Dead Man Walking (1995) by Ben B — 10 Aug 2009
Difficult to watch, Dead Man Walking is based on a true story of a nun who is contacted by a man on death row, trying to get her to help him prove his innocence. The nun quickly realizes that, while the man's story may be compelling, there is more than one side to the story.
It's a truthful, compelling film, with some astounding scenes, and a unique story. Tim Robbins directs two powerful actors through a difficult narrative about life and death, poverty and crime.
