Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Eric H — 08 May 2013
Colin Farrell shuffles from one film to the next without making much of an impression. "Dead Man Down" is nowhere as interesting as the remake of "Total Recall". Noomi Rapace must have welcomed the opportunity to work with Oplev, but this film is a bust.
Oplev generates a modicum of suspense, but the absurd Wyman screenplay teems with so many clichés that you'll be way ahead of both before this almost two hour long saga is over. "Dead Man Down" lives down to its comatose title, and neither Farrell nor Rapace make persuasive lovers.
