Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Karim G — 29 Jun 2013
Directed by Niels Arden Oplev who did the original Swedish THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, DEAD MAN DOWN is quite awful but also quite lovely. A confusing amalgam of American B movie and contemporary Euro action flick, DEAN MAN excels in the very personal scenes between Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace but totally falls apart in the action scenes.
The film is way too long, occasionally boring, but never uninteresting. And the small personal moments that really underscore the hardship and difficulty of life along with the beauty and love, are actually quite perfect and enduring.
