Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Andrej P — 14 Jul 2013
I don't understand why this film is called "Dead Man Down." It's not a murder mystery or a crime solving case kind of movie. Throughout the whole I didn't know where the story was taken place.
I had to look it up and this film were shot in parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and a downtown in Philadelphia. This plot didn't really gave these characters reasons for them to be in the city. The film could easy be shot somewhere else, it didn't really matter.
Using a city as back drop does not in any way improve the plot. The relationship Farrell and Rapace were interesting enough but in times really steers away the pace of film. There's nothing unique.
It's a moderate suspense, romance and action film.
