Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Roxanne R — 08 Aug 2013
Despite having such a good cast, this one fell a bit short on action and intrigue. At times too long, the ending was a bit of a surprise. Victor (Colin Farrell) works for Alphonse (Terrence Howard) a big time drug dealer with a shady past.
Victor is Alphonse's right hand man but unknown to Alphonse, Victor has a painful past in which Alphonse played a crucial part. Now Victor wants revenge but along the way he meets his neighbor Beatrice (Noomi Rapace) a woman disfigured in a car accident who has a bone to pick with the drunk driver who destroyed her life.
The plot continues from there, at times interesting but other times a little boring. The plot was lacking and although the acting was good, I agree with Kyle Smith from the New York Post when he said that "while a mob thriller can be as nasty as it likes, what it can't be is silly.
" You can pass on this one..
