Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Brett H — 20 Jan 2014
Not without it's flaws, Dead Man Down is an interesting revenge mystery that hits more than it misses. The actors are all serviceable for the film and there is at least 2 really cool action moments that I liked a lot.
However, the main story is pretty much a re-working of Lucky Number Slevin which is far superior and more entertaining. The editing and pacing is all-over-the-place and a lot of the scenes come across as filler.
It's still not terrible and I don't understand how anyone can be confused by this film once it wraps up (critics, wth?), so if you enjoy artsy-ish revenge flicks, it's good.
