Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Stephen H — 27 Jan 2014
A film with a simple story, revenge. A dish best serve cold. Indeed the film reminds us all that within revenge a character can still show morality and affection if only fleetingly. The script doesn't pretend to provoke any great cliché it simply acts as the rails for an ever increasing battle to stay one step ahead of your enemy.
Farrell performs what he needs to without over doing any particular emotion as does his female counterpart, just enough to make you still care. Great film and very well directed till the end. A dose of not pretending to be anything else other than a tale of a dish best served cold (and wet).
