Review of Dead Man Down (2013) by Rodrigo R — 27 Jun 2013
A film that gets its characters developed well but its plot very very twisted and absence of that "spark element". Dead Man Down starts off pretty fast paced, their is no prologue, no flashbacks, you're to collect information through character dialogue.
Colin Farrell never really fails to impress and Noomi Rapace does a pretty good job but this whole quest for "revenge" crumbles into pieces, one moment they want revenge then the other they don't want revenge, and the villain plays a pretty weak paper in my opinion.
You don't really feel "threatened" by him or in any way intimidated by his actions. I guess I will give it points for the whole, through revenge, they saved each other type theme but the film doesn't deliver what the audience is looking for.
The message on why revenge doesn't work or how do you live with it. It's another film that had a lot of potential but just fell short. That is why Dead Man Down gets a 6/10.
